Coexist 2/ Lotje, is a colorful intuitive artwork about peace, coexistence and the shared human desire to live together in harmony. Inspired by a walk through the city* of Arnhem in May 2025, the painting brings together personal observations, local identity and spiritual symbolism.

The blue angel-like figure,  is carrying elements of different faiths within one body. The synagogue, church and mosque reflect the presence of different religious traditions, while the blue face adds a subtle reference to Hinduism. Together, these elements suggest that peace is not created by erasing difference, but by making space for many beliefs, cultures and communities to exist side by side.

The folded hands, flowers, city references and the yellow-and-black Vitesse heart connect spirituality to everyday life and to Arnhem itself. Rooted in place, memory and encounter, Coexist 2 expresses the idea that peace begins in the streets we walk, the symbols we carry and the willingness to share one living world together.
